About

Where it All Started:

Make up.  I’ve always loved playing with make up, I started wearing it when I was entirely too young.  But even then, I knew the power of putting products on your face.  Whether it’s to enhance, camouflage, or simply want to wear a pretty color on your face (like wearing a pretty color of clothing), it’s always been fun for me.  It wasn’t until I got older when I realized the importance of skin care.  It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone wants to feel good about themselves.  It all starts with your face, it’s your window into the world.

It is my life’s passion, and I live and dedicate my career to one principal:  Everyone has the right to feel pretty.

Facts About Me:

  • My name is Kayla and I’m a 20-something beauty blogger.
  • I wear really high heels.  Always.
  • I have a bachelors degree in Psychology/Sociology.
  • I started aesthetics school in January 2012.
  • I’m half Vietnamese.
  • I’m a former NFL and AFL cheerleader.
  • I have a terrier mix named Sabrina.  She is the love of my life (well, one of them).
  • I really like Chipotle.

Skin profile:  I’m mid-20’s years old.  Minimal wrinkles.  MAC shade NC30-35.  Oily skin.

I’m a product JUNKIE.  I love trying new things, comparing, taking photos, and sharing my reviews.

I started this blog because I am a long time follower of beauty blogs.  I love the blogging industry because it gives anyone and everyone the opportunity to have a voice.  This website is a platform for me to build my brand, share my beauty experiences, talk about products, and (hopefully) share some laughs 🙂

Well thank you so much for the compliment! You know I really can’t take credit for these pictures, they were all professionally done by some very talented photographers! But you are very sweet to leave such a nice comment! I’m always up for suggestions so I’d love to hear your current favorite products that you are using!

Well thank you very much, Misty! There are a few solutions to getting those long lashes…
      1) An eyelash curler, a good mascara, and a metal lash comb. Curl your lashes. Then apply three coats of mascara (let each one set for 1-2 minutes before applying the next coat). Use lash comb in between coats. Time consuming, yes. Cheapest route? Yes.
      2) False lashes! There are the individual clusters (a little tricky to apply but very natural looking) and the ones with the strip. My favorite falsies are the Ardell 105 (dramatic) and the 305 (daytime). I recommend Duo lash glue.
      3) Latisse. Schedule an appointment with and optometrist or ophthalmologist to get a prescription. I use Latisse, and it does work. Downside: It takes at least 3 months to see the results, and it’s pricey ($100-$120 for 3mL). You also have to keep using the product to keep your long lashes. If you quit using it for a period of time, your lashes will start to thin out :/
      4) Eyelash extensions. Another pricey option, it typically costs around $150 (and up to) get them applied. Maintenance is much like when you have acrylic nails, you need to get them filled every 2-3 weeks. Each fill costs around $50.

Whew! Hope that helps! Thanks for reading!
