Sunday Manicure with Essie

10 Jun

This past week has been a big one!  I have closed one chapter of my life to begin a new one.  I’ve spent my Sunday reflecting on my past and putting the pieces together for my future.  Overall, I feel very content, serene, and excited.  I decided to give myself a little mani and wanted to pick a color that reflected my mood.  I found the perfect color!

It’s Essie, Lapis of Luxury.  Why is it such a perfect match?

It’s a periwinkle blue with hints of purple.  It’s cool tone makes it calming, but it’s just bright enough to make the color stand out.  In some lights in leans purple, so you never really know what to expect.

This color is front Essie’s Spring 2010 Resort Collection.  I got this in the clearance bin (hint, the red slash on top) at Beauty Brands a couple of years ago.

The polish is a bit sheer, but that’s ok because sometimes I prefer something that isn’t so opaque.  It’s just a soft, soothing blue.  Like, the calm before the storm…

My life has been absolutely crazy the past 6 months, so much has changed.  I started aesthetics school, resigned from my job, made new friends, and I have a whole new perspective on life.  And to think… it all started with a make-up hobby.

Happy Sunday!

XO Kayla

Thanks, Tami! I have about 350 out of 1000 hours, so I’ll be in school until at least December!
