Seche Vite, Dry Nails in 2 Minutes

29 Feb

I’m used to not be a “nail polish” type of girl.  It just seemed like a big hassle to go through all that trouble to put on a base coat, 2-3 coats of nail polish, then a top coat.  And, if you manage not to screw that up, you inevitably mess them up while they’re drying.  Been there?  Me too.

Nowadays, I go through phases where I’ll paint my nails a different color almost every night.  It may seem like a lot of work, but it’s a breeze since I found this top coat.

Check it out!

Website description: It’s a dry fast top coat is widely acknowledged as the world’s finest top coat. Specially formulated to penetrate through nail lacquer to the base coat forming a single solid coating over the nail plate for a much more durable finish. Guaranteed not to yellow while leaving nails silky, stronger and resistant to chipping and peeling.

I have to mention, I bought this because my nail polish guru BFF swears by it.  Except I think she calls it “Sesh Vit.”

My thoughts: It’s like, the clouds have parted.  It’s a solution for a lifelong problem.  I paint my nails before I go to bed.  2 minutes later, DRY!  It’s amazing!   There aren’t even any pillow marks on them when I wake up!  Amazing!

After Seche Vite

I realize that those aren’t very good comparison pictures, shine is not an easy thing to capture on camera.  In person, it does add quite a bit of shine to the existing nail polish.

Downside:  It doesn’t extend the wear time of my nail polish.  It still chips pretty quickly (which, is very normal for me).  I’ve also read a lot of reviews of people complaining that this causes shrinkage.  However, I haven’t experienced that.

Overall:  This is the best fast drying top coat on the market, if you ask me.  Unfortunately, since it doesn’t make my polish chip resistant (like it promises) I can’t give it a 5.  But I have yet to find a good top coat that is both chip resistant and fast drying.  It’s something I will always keep in my nail polish collection!

Glitter rating : 3.5 / 5

You can purchase this at most drugstores, Sally’s, Ulta, or Beauty Brands.  It normally runs anywhere from $7.99 – $9.99.

I’ve started painting my nails more lately. What do you mean it causes shrinkage??

Shrinkage – A coat of nail polish that shrinks on one’s nail to create a visible white space with no polish on the tip of the nail. It’s generally a very undesriable side effect of using fast drying top coat over very thickly applied polish. No relation to cold water.

I use No Miss products. It stays chip-free for several days! It takes a long time to dry though, even though the top coat bottle says it’s fast drying. I like it because it’s toxin-free and they have fun colors! http://www.nomiss.com/products.php?cat=1

Toxin free, I like it! I guess the slow dry time is the trade off though, bummer.

Leave some sparkle love
