Affordable Drugstore Moisturizer, Olay!

13 Dec

I love skin care.  I love drug store products.  It’s only natural that these two would mate.

I have a lot of high-end skin care that I love, but I get more satisfaction over finding something that’s affordable and effective.  This would explain why I get a rush from walking through the make up/skin care isles at Target.  Seriously, it comforts me.

After reading great reviews about the Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer, I decided to finally get it.

And for less than 8 bucks, I really didn’t have that much to lose.

I purchased this for $7.69 for 4.0oz at Target.  Before I go any further, let me give you a brief description of my skin profile:

I’m 25, minimal wrinkles.  Slightly oily skin.  I live in the midwest, therefore we experience all 4 seasons.  Since it’s winter time now, my skin is less oily than normal but still leans toward the oily side.  However, I do experience some dry patches during this season.

Since my skin leans more towards the oily side I purchased the “sensitive skin” formula.  The Complete Ageless Skin Renewing UV Lotion is the regular version of this.  This lotion has been featured on the Allure Best of Beauty list several times.

My thoughts:  I was skeptical about this lotion, especially because of the price.  But I’m going to tell you right now, I love it.  It does a fantastic job of keeping my skin moisturized without being too heavy.  My favorite part?  It has SPF 15.  I use it on the backs of my hands every day to help protect them from UV rays as well.  A quarter sized amount covers my face and neck.  And I put about a nickel sized amount on the back of my hands to cover the entire backs and fingers.

I think, even if you buy this and you don’t like it for your face, you can still use it on your hands for moisturizer and protection from the sun!

Glitter rating 5 / 5

Are there any Harry Potter fans in the house tonight?  If not, then avert your eyes from this next part because you will find it incredibly boring…

Check out me last month outside of Hogwarts!

My owl with my Hogwarts letter should be in any day now...

Ok, well technically it’s not the real Hogwarts, it’s the one at Harry Potter World at Universal Studios in Florida.  I went because they were celebrating the release of the last film on DVD.  I got to see Ron Weasley in person!

How cool is that?

Now, for you non-Harry Potter fans, I know you are jealous of how cool I am.  And my fellow Harry Potter fans…  you get it.  This was a HUGE deal for me!  Okay, I will quit nerding out and get back to the beauty talk.

What are some of your favorite drug store moisturizers?

It’s a great moisturiser. It’s even good over make up in the afternoon if you just want a sun protection top up!

I’m going to have to add this to my next Target run along with the Cetaphil Cleanser.
